Sweet Fig...

I was recently searching through pictures looking for inspiration for my Sweet Fig soap, when time and time again, I came across the most amazing photographs of bright, juicy figs in all their delight!

The creative genius behind the lens is Cathy Arkle, a food blogger, culinary explorer, graphic artist, and world traveler. She has worked as a graphic artist for major networks (NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX & ESPN) and has collected several Emmys in the field of graphic design...impressive stuff!

Please take some time to check out Cathy's blog, She Paused for Thoughtyou'll marvel at the amazing photography, posts and recipes that she shares! Speaking of sharing, Cathy told me that she used to soap too! How fun is that?!

Here is Sweet Fig v.1.0, will have to work on those colors some more and come back with a v.2.0!

  3. Your colors and swirling designs are nothing short of spectacular. You are really gifted. If the soap I used to make looked half as gorgeous as yours I never would have quit making it. I am really enjoying your blog.

I am happy my fig photo worked for your inspiration. Thanks for the shout out.

  4. zahida, as exotic as your name sounds, its nothing compared to your seductive way with fresh saponification !!! This finished gal reminds me of Cruella DeVille from 101 Dalmations...don't ask me why ...early disney was beautifully graphic...and I slid right into the memory.
Hope you aren't too young to remember her !

  5. I am fairly new to soapmaking and am a self professed modern hippie so I absolutely LOVE your swirl designs cut to look like butterflies with 2 bars of soap. Do you have recipes, tutorials or kits with all items needed that I could get from you? I would gladly pay for the recipe and tutorial... Or the lit if you sell those! I really love the purple with Gold or Black & gold for LSU and the Nola Saints! That's in advance! Michelle

  6. I loved this soap so much when i saw it yesterday i tried to recreate it today. I didn't succeed in the colours quite the same. or the design. or the fragrance. But the point of my story is this soap is so gorgeous and inspirational. You're colour choices are amazing. and design. I love it.
