Thank you for the wonderful video!! I love the soap - I can almost smell it!! Anyway to film at a bit of an angle? I want to better see your pours and the containers get in the way sometimes! I'm still learning and need all the help I can get! Thanks! You are very artistic!!
Thanks so much Sly! Yes, it's kind of tricky trying to get a good angle and focus on making soap at the same time lol...I played around with the camera set-up yesterday...hopefully the next video will give alternate views :)
Thanks so much Robin. I couldn't tell you the exact colors I used in the base :-/ I tend to mix the micas until I achieve the look I was going for...rarely use them as is :) What I can tell you though, is where I got my mold lol...bought it from American Soap Supplies, http://www.americansoapsupplies.com/The-Tall-Skinny-Silicone-Mold-70410001.htm
Thanks so much Claudia! Your comments were cracking me up as I was reading them...too funny! Yes, the silicone mold I use is the TS one (link above), but I also have a few custom wooden ones that are slightly bigger.
The gold flakes are my version of shaved chocolate...same concept...shaved some cp soap and dusted with gold mica :)
As a general rule, I don't cpop...ruined a nice acrylic mold that way once...whoopsie...have stayed away ever since lol!

DeleteLove the drama of your musical selection! I so appreciate the effort you put into your productions.
ReplyDeleteYour mold does look distinctly deep and thin. Is it a standard tall size, just really long?
And last, what are the gold flakes you sprinkled on top? DIY grated mica M&P? They've got a lovely, rich look to them.
OK, so it wasn't my last question: do you CPOP? I'm guessing not with acrylic and silicone molds.
Thanks again for sharing!
