The Secret Feather Swirl No. 2

I decided to make another secret feather swirl using the Brazilian Clay Sampler Pack from Bramble Berry. The soap is scented with a lovely blend of sweet orange, lavender and patchouli essential oils. You can see the making video here.

I was having so much fun experimenting with natural colorants, that I decided to experiment with a few more...feel free to check them out here

  2. I love both your secret and public feathers! Drawing a feather on top was such a good idea. Your picture are beautiful, and the setting with the scrapings really nice. Great!

  3. You are such an amazing artist, and your work is beautiful! Thank you show much for showing us exactly how you do it, as that's more than doubling your work, what with lighting, editing, etc.

I can tell by the swirl detail that this is the same soap, but the base is so much darker in the video while you were making it. Is that just lighting?

    1. Thank you Claudia, yes the soap was made late at night and the pictures were taken during the day (in natural light)...if only I could squeeze soapmaking in during the day too!

  4. I love your soaps. They inspire me to try different techniques. I especially love the feather swirl although I have not mastered it yet. Here is my entry into last month's challenge ( http://cabinofbows.blogspot.com/2014/06/island-breezes-soap.html ) as you can see at the bottom I still have some work to do to get this technique mastered

  5. I love your soaps. They are so beautiful and they challenge me to try new techniques. I have not mastered the secret feather swirl yet. I tried three different times for last month's challenge before doing a regular hanger swirl. As you can see from the picture at the bottom ( http://cabinofbows.blogspot.com/2014/06/island-breezes-soap.html ) I still have some work to do to master this technique. Thank you so much for posting videos.

    1. Hi Lois - I loved your soap entry last month AND you were so ahead of the game with the natural colorants lol! Yes, the feather can be a bit frustrating, I've had a few mishaps myself...give it another try!
